After inoculation, spreading the spores....

After you inoculate the jars....do you pick the jar up and shake furiously so the spores will disperse? Or should you gently lean the jar to one side and then to the other?

give them a shake but I think you will find alot of good info in the FAQ, I know I have.

If the jar in question is PF-jar, then the answer is a big NO, if it?s a grain jar then YES.

I would have thought it would encourage a stronger strain to take over if you waited untill you got some rhizomorphs before you shook a grain jar.

You shake it once after inoculation, then once after you have around 10% of the surface covered by mycelium.
