I would just wonder what the Ph level is. Where did you find this stuff, at WalMart? Sounds like it would work fine, though, maybe after you add some hydrated lime or calcium carbonate to it.

yeah,i got it from walmart.im not sure of the ph,but id say the makeup of the mix is 80% peatmoss,10%perlite,10%water crystals.what is the optium ph for casing?

Optimum ph is between 6 and 7. I use chloroplast strips from FungiPerfecti. They are cheap insurance. I would recomend that you ad a little lime just for safety sake and it should inhibit green mold.
