You could sprinkle a light layer of casing material over the protruding areas. This should allow the rest of the casing to catch up.

Yes I believe that would be a good idea.

I have a little complication and a question though to go along with this.
Ok well thing is I have no substrate layer left! So my cake was crumbled in the areas you see mycellium popping through - the middle and back side. Would it be ok to spoon out some substrate from the side where no cake was crumbled - nothing is there. And just sprinkle that over the parts?
OR
Do you advise just making more pcing my casing layer ect and sprinklin...

Thank you mucho~!~ Mickey i appreciate it im just a lazy fuck.

If I am understanding this correctly, the only places in the pan that contains a nutritive substrate is where the mycellium is showing. If this is the case, don't patch the casing. Fruit that fucker!!! Concerning spooing out the sides, I wouldn't mess with it.

I don't think this will be necessary for this casing due to the new discovery..

My cat's casing is kind of ghetto like that too because she had to transfer it from one pan to another with spatulas since the pan she originally used wouldn't fit in the terrarium (she's a dumbass and should've measured it). She just filled in around the casing with a few chunks of cake and threw some new moistened vermiculite on top. So far all is well. Pins a plenty are forming and no contamination is seen. As a side note, she shouldn't have to worry about pins only forming around the sides since the sides are just vermiculite.

Say, can I have some of your purple berries?
Yes, I've been eating them, for six or seven weeks now, haven't got sick once.

Agreed, it should work fine IF I had more cake(s) I would have crumbled and layered the whole tray but instead I could only work with 1 half pint.
So I just crumbled that set it in the middle and waited a week had passed it looked like that all mycellium was peaking through so I thought its time to fruit it looks all even doesnt seem to need patching ect ect.

You do not need a whole tray filled to case. The casing's purpose is not for having the cake substrate colonize the casing layer fully, its merely to provide moisture and lots in return with the surface area and moisture levels you thus have bigger and more mushrooms. Now if I had spawned my cake onto horse poop straw or cow shit thatd be a whole nother story but I had not.
