I mean Cubes are called Goldcaps for a reason. Aint nothin golden in those pictures. I have also seen these before at the UF campus and the size they grow to can be quite impressive. I've seen them 4-5 inches wide at the cap.

I see these all the time down here in Ft Laud. Always in parks though, right after a good rain.
They do get huge as someone noted. Not quite frisbee size but a good 6-8 inches.

You should realize that the majority of people who hunt mushrooms are not looking to get high. Most of them are looking for food. Chlorophyllum molybdites is common, large, meaty, smells and tastes good, and easy to mistake for an edible Lepiota. And there have been a very few fatalities from eating it - rare and unusual, but they have happened.

I don't imagine that anybody has ever eaten them thinking they had found a psychedelic. If I could help prevent somebody from eating them, I would be pretty happy about that.

I was refering to the comment about people mistaking these for Psilocybe Cubensis. I could easy see how one could confuse these with Lepiotas, but not cubes.
