The Panaeolopsis are in season!

I found two dozen or so panaeolopsis today in a lawn at my school along with several hundred subbalteatus!
If anyone needs samples of dried panaeolopsis please PM me! also looking for someone to help me do some microscopies. I want several pan subb prints ranging greatly in shape and form to be looked at. To possibly find a different panaeolus species I believe I have been encountering.

Yes, they are Panaeolopsis, but the species has not been confirmed. I doubt they are P. nirimbii, as those are much larger.

Try to get a good picture of the Panaeolopsis in its habitat. I'm still working on cultivation but its a fickle bitch.
I can help with the subb microscopy if needed. I'm a bit behind on samples but I tend to do them all at once to catch up. Panaeolus subbalteatus is already known as a species complex and probably does consist of many similar species.

I've been seeing those everywhere! I have no camera though and I couldn't spore them so I just tore them up and threw them on a law. Are they active?

They don't drop spores because they are secotioid. The spores remain on the gills and are dispersed by whatever eats them.
They are probably active, as the mycelium and sometimes the stem base is blue.
