I tried. I got about 3-5 pages in and I said, "Uh Ok Im going to go now Hub. Thanks anyway."
Little to out there for me. I like my religious movements to be about the good stuff, you know, sex, drugs, music

I really like his "Battlefield Earth" book. 1000+ pages but I really enjoyed it. I have also read his "What is Scientology?" book, and a bit of the diatetics. But yes, he is the master of word spew. The only good message that I got from his works is if you come to a word you don't 100% know the meaning to look it up. Not knowing the definition of words you read is why people don't agree with his message. (Atleast thats HIS argument) I was raised by a mother that had a large vocabulary and was always telling me to look things up in the dictionary if I didn't understand what she said. You would think I could spell from looking so many words up, but nope, I spell like sheet! Moe, did you ever go to the Scientology Church while you were in the DC area? Spooky people in there! I swear they are on some wacky mind numbing drugs.

I've got a copy of Hubby's Original Thesis of Dianetics, written back in 1951. Slim little book, to have spawned all this hoo-haw; only 153 pages. Its still on my Big Pile of Books I Have to Read Before I Die. And there's nothing wrong with a little healthy cultishness, in moderation...

Jack Kerouac actually new Hubbard back in the late 50s and early 60s before he launched all that Dianetics stuff. I remember reading that in Caroline Cassady's book about Jack and Neil. That?s all I know about Mr. Hubbard. Well that, and that he disappeared mysteriously somehow. I?d like to hear more about his mysterious disappearance, if anyone knows about it?

Does anyone have the Scientology series books? The ones you have to buy if you are a member. I would like them, but baulk at the sticker prices vs content. pm if you do
