loph germ tips??

I just recently came upon some peyote seeds so I'm considering myself very fortunate. But I want to make sure that as many of these germinate as possible. I have 20 seeds altogether. I fully plan to do as much research on germination and all around care through erowid and other websites. But I'm wondering if anyone has any tips for me that I wouldn't be so quick to find on a website.
I've only tried growing cactus from seed one other time. That was with San Pedro seeds and not a single one germinated. So I don't know if the seeds were no good or if I was doing something wrong or just not being patient enough. I'm really hoping that things turn out differently with these though.
Also, I probably won't get around to planting these for at least about a month. Do I have to worry about storing them any certain way (ie in the refrigerator) to make sure they stay viable?
Thanks ahead of time!!

soak your soil. make sure it gets saturated all the way thru.
then just put the seeds ontop of it. maybe push them in a 1/16th of an inch at most.
cover the pot with saran/cling wrap

Awesome. What about storing the seeds until I plant them though?
They can prolly just be kept at room temp. right?

I keep my seeds in a little baggy, in a unused drawer. Also, those aluminum pans with plastic lids (All kinds of sizes at the dollar store) make perfect little greenhouses. For me, it's a matter of wet cactus mix, with sand+seed mix tossed on top (sand to avoid clumps of seedlings). Then mist and cover. I keep them in heavy shade, because it's already been over 110 here . Depending on seed stock, I usually get 70-80% germ rates (Usually get first about 4 days in, and last a month or two later).

yeah, and if youre like me and dont like to use aluminun for plants(just a personal preference i suppose) you can get the mini green houses that come with jiffy pellets at walmart for cheap...same principle tho..

Hmmm. I didn't realize there was an issue with using Aluminum, thanks for the heads up.

i didnt say there was. dont take it as fact.
its just a preference of mine.
im not sure if metals bleed into the soil or anything, so i just dont take the chance.
seems like theres always somethin better to use.

Still a tip regardless. Who knows, maybe it causes more salt buildup than plastic or clay.
As far as better things to use, I do agree. In my experience, cactus tends to grow in anything (Tupperware, plastic bag, etc).

Would it be cool to use something like this as long as the soil mix is good and it's saturated enough?

I'd bet it'd work great. Hard to tell how the seal on it is, but personally, I like to give them a good air exchange daily or so.

Most of my lophs are in aluminum trays and they are fine. You do really need to watch to make sure you keep them in full shade. They are much more sensitive to light than san Pedro or any other trichs. I've had Lophs and trichs in the same tray and accidentally left them in a spot that got a little sunlight and while the trichs were OK the lophs quickly turned red.

i have done in the past..but to get them to germ i have a mad way of doing it....i place it in a warm airing cupboard periodically after planting the seeds...this seems to get them to germ quite quickly...alsmost like their natural habitat...cool nights hot days...gets them germing like little soldiers..only my experience mind you.
p.s. MOD EDIT: this is not the marketplace so please keep trades out of this forum as stated in the rules. thank you

Be sure to sterilize your substrate.

I'm gonna be going on vacation soon for a little over a week. So I figured it would be best to just wait until I get back.
I'd rather not ask someone else to tend to my peyote seeds.
