Trouble with Dehumidifying

Ok, So I harvested my first flush of mushies about a week ago, and right after I placed them all in an airtight 1 cubic foot container with my dehumidifier. I am using this http://www.mycosupply.com/cgi-bin/shopper.cgi?preadd=action&key=DDDH01 from mycosupply. It said on their website that you all that needs to be done is for it to sit in with your harvest around it, in an airtight container and it would extract all of the moisture.
So far I have yet to see a real drastic change of my mushrooms since I first put them in there. Some of them HAVE gotten dryer, but none are "cracker dry". I am really at a bind because I want them to fully dry, but all it really seems to do is preserve them if that makes sense. The mushrooms are still good, as in they have no rot or fungus, but it's not taking the usual dry time of what is posted up on these forums of 24-36 hours.
Any suggestions as to what I should do? Any and all imput would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Fan dry them for a couple of days first to remove the majority of the moisture, then put them into the desiccant chamber for cracker-dry consistency.

How is the best way to fan dry them? Just place them on a plate or a surface with a fan running over?
Sorry to ask so many questions, every other time my flush was able to be desiccant dryed with no problem, and this is really stumping me.

Yeha, i got some Q's too....
I've had mine on a fan-type thing for ~36+ hours now. A few seem dry, they kinda pop when i try to break them, or tear. All the caps are dry. ONe big boy seems still softy in the middle.
I guess i should wait on the big one, but the others i can put in a tupperware with a few silica packs found in beef jerky? or what?

It might take more than a few. You can order those packets on eBay for cheap. You can buy desiccant all over the place. One time I used Tidy Cats Crystals at Walmart. They are pure silica. If you go that route, make sure you get the container with nothing but crystals. You don't want your mush smelling like litter LOL.

That would work fine. I've got a 30" box fan that I just sit the mushrooms on the shroud protecting the fan blade, and it works well too.

Well, this was like a late harvest from the first flush off a cake, so i only got like 3 shrooms here.
I was gonna put all three shrooms into a pint jar, with 3 silicia packs found in beef jery packages, then seal it up mason jar style. I'm pretty sure thats enough for this small amount of mushy wushy.

To fan dry, a plate would work although a cooking rack would be best since it'll allow air flow on every side.
You can get Damp Rid at most hardware stores. Once you've got most of the moisture out through fan drying, just put it in an air container with a bunch of the Damp Rid(make sure it doesn't touch the shrooms. You do not wanna be eating that)

Snype you are awesome. How did the tidy cat turn out for you? Sounds like the cheapest way to get a reasonable amount of desiccant locally.
