Proper pronunciation of loph?

What is it?

Is it like loaf or is it more like the vowel sound in loft?

Or is it neither? Is it like "ahh"?

Sorry. I know this is a dumb question. But I tried figuring it out thru a search engine and it didn't help.

With most binomial names I'm usually content to pronounce them however they look to me but this one I'm particularly curious about.
