Mushroom Extract

Last night around midnight, I ingested approx. 1 gram of "mushroom goo". I'd heard of it before, but had never tried it.

I couldn't find much info about it on erowid, and was just curious if anyone knows much about it.

It was the strongest dose of psilocybin I've ever taken. Amazing trip, a 5 on the trip scale.

Wish I took a picture of it...o well. If anyone know how to make this stuff hook me up with the recipe.

Well if it was "goo" then it wasn't a pure extraction, it might have been a simple 70% ethanol extraction kind of thing. IIRC, Shulgin states in the FAQs on his site that 70% is the best concentration to use for psilocybin extraction.

This would produce said "goo" rather than crystals, and I'm fairly sure it's as simple as leaving ground up shrooms in the alcohol for a few days and then evaporating it.

I did a search and found a little bit more information about it.

Do you have a link to make these 'crystals' as well as the Shulgin FAQ link?

It was in a tootsie roll wrapper, looked pretty much the same as a tootsie, but tasted like eating an entire quarter of mushrooms in one bite.

I see people say contrasting ways to extract the alkaloids. Some are saying to use ethanol, while others say to use methanol (which i dont even know what this is)....

I prefer not to use things that I wouldn't drink. It's very possible that methanol would be more efficient, but better...? Matter of opinion I guess.
