First grow : a few questions...

Hello everybody, new to this site and to cultivation. Im still waiting for my spores in the mail but in the meantime Ive started putting together a terrarium for fruiting. The setup consists in :

-A styrofoam cooler
-Perlite in the bottom
-Mesh above the perlite to hold the cakes
-A humidifier
-Drip shield
-Temp/humidity gauge.

So far the tests are good, I can reach 95% humidity with almost no condensation. As for the temp, I have a few problems. The terrarium will be set up in a cool basement (approx. 60F). I bought yesterday a 25W lizard heater (rubber wire). Its not the best, and it was expensive; I can reach 70F after a very long time, but it wont go higher (maybe because the humidifier sucks in cooler air). I just bought a conair heating pad (45W) which I will try to install under the perlite. Does anyone have experience with this kind of setup? If the pad does not do the job, perhaps a heating lamp above the terrarium would be good? Tips and advice most needed!

I'm not too familiar with reptile heaters, etc., so I'm not much help there.

I suggest you get a space heater to warm up the room temperature.

bro, that method seems a bit outdated.

not saying you wont get results. cuz you will. and probably good ones, but there much simpler begginer, and LONG lasting teks like RR's Shotgun FC.

do a search on that, and the million results that come up, you should be able to get the jist of it
