I was wondering what the most common active mushrooms in the PNW? I have never picked anything before and was planning on it as soon as the season starts.

They are in the University of Washingtons library.

My original book Safe-Pik Mushroom Id Guide was in the Seattle public library for many years. They had 16 copies orignally. OVer the years everyone ripped the pictures out (80 pics).

But the UW does have most of my works in journals and in books. Go there adn type then name mushroom john into the computers and they will send you on your way.

They have acquisition departments which purchase journals and books.

I donated an original 1976 copy to the Pacific Northwest Collections room and then they order many copies. Then the Seattle public libraries carried my Magic Mushrooms fo the PNW and my Saffe-Pik Mushroom Guide.

All of the Seattle public libaries at one time or another all carrid the 24 volumes sets of the Encyclopedia of Psychoactive Drugs, and many also use to carry Paul Stamets PSilocybin Mushroms and their Allies as well as hid Mudshroom Cultivator book. However, over the years many of these volumes were stolen or had pictures excised from their pages by teenagers who did not have enough moeny to buy their own books, Shit my book was $2.50 a copy in 1976 and it was even shop lifeted fromthe University Booksotr on many ocassions.

In fact three years ago at Raver books they caught a kid stealing a how to grow marijauana book and 14 copies of my mushroom books. Chased hoim out the store and a cop was driving buy. The owneners thought that he only took one book.

Even about 70 percent of many journals which had mushroom related articles or info inthem had the pages cut out at the U of W. In fact, All of the original articles covering their rediscovery in mexico and written by French Mycologist Roger Heim (prounounced as EM) in several french language journals ar e missing fromthe pages of the journals they were published in.
