Skinny Casing Fruit *Pic*

Heres a pic of a single BRF cake cased with jiffy mix.
I'm currently out of town right now, but my room mate is lookin after my crops. I've explained that he needs to fan 3-5 times a day for FAE. Is this lookin like its gonna be a small skinny fruit, or is it just me?
I've also read that casing BRF cakes straight into a casing without bulk spawn will have far fewer nutrients to make large and many fruits, is this a possible reason for a skinny stem?
Lookin at everyone else's pics of pins brings me concern because everyone else's are so much fatter at the bottom and later grow to big strong fruits. My first grow was with BRF cakes dunk n' rolled, and it produced small fruits. Just wondering what I'm doing wrong. Is it at all possible that the genetics of these Golden Teachers is causing this? Or is it completely environmental?
O ya, its the only fruit that my roommate can see as well, which kinda seems odd, it looks like it popped up yesterday or so, and he says he doesnt see any other pins....

You will probably have little fruits since it is a single brf crumbled and cased. The sub is probably pretty thin.

There is no benefit to casing pf cakes. They're already 2/3 vermiculite. Adding a casing layer does nothing but add moisture, which can easily be done via dunking.
Sometimes, cased cakes will deliver a larger first flush, but rarely anything after that. Well cared for cakes can deliver several flushes.
As for your pin, they all start out microscopic and grow from there. Stop looking at it so much and you'll see more soon. RR

Thanks a ton RR, you always answer my questions!
Quick question for you, what college did you go to? Do you just have 4 yr degree, or masters? Is the job market good for mycology? Sounds like a fun career. I'm going for a major in biology, if i can pass chemistry.

Keep the casing layer moist and give lots of fresh air and it will mature. More pins should follow.
My degree is in electrical engineering. RR
