dunking in urine?

i know this may sound stupid but do you think dunking a cake in urine would add any nutrients for the cakes...i know urine can be used for fertilizers for plants...urine is sterile so there wont be any bacteria in it (unless you have a bladder infection), however maybe the ammonia and other crap in urine would be a good breeding ground for contams.

any thoughts?

You'd obviously want to sure that your urine was alkaline (basic) and not acidic, as that would retard growth. If you went straight vegetarian for a week or two that might do the trick. Otherwise, your urine might become alkaline if you are sick, doesn't sound fun. Here's more than you'll ever want to know about urine ph:

'Muscimol, the psychoactive element of Amanita muscaria, remains active in urine for up to seven reingestions'

Wasson notes ancient Hindu scriptures depicting urine drinking as bestowing spirituality, just as Siberian shamans drink the urine of amanita muscaria-fed reindeer which exhibit appropriate signs of mushroom intoxication in order to gain insight and wisdom. This is because muscimol, the psychoactive element of Amanita muscaria, remains active in urine for up to seven reingestions or for use by others, which the shamans drink as a holy wine, the epitome of true transubstantiation.

did anyone else see the size of that chicken???who in the hell told you urine is sterile????!!!!!

the fact that it is URINE is in direct oppostion to the meaning of sterility. urine IS the product of bacteria, waste products, and toxins in your body.

HI XAZIA! well not totally wrong just some...
see urine is a great atibiotic to your own person as long as it is your own thats why hood and prince albert pircings dont get infected because the urine.. . a good survival tip is if you get hurt in the woods and have no meens of cleaning said wound use your OWN P to clean it the Vitcong used to p on sharppened bambo wich people would step in the hole and get the bambo jabed in there leg ..they would get a really bad infection from someone elses urine in there system..only use your OWN P TO CLEAN YOUR OWN WOUND!!

OHH...I dont think it would work cuz of the amonia content but shit give it a try...

Hey ZEPH!! You're not totally wrong, just some. You're right about it being sterile and pretty ok to clean wounds. However, you've got a little info mixed up. The vietcong put human feces on those bamboo sticks, not urine. Nasty gangrenous infections from bacteria that produced gases as they metabolized the tissue often resulted. So, if you really wanted to you could use someone else's urine to clean your wound. You'd have a better chance of not getting an infection if it came from a guy. The longer urethra of males keeps them from getting as many urinary tract infections as women.

urine contains ammonia....fresh horse poo contains urine.

the reason you dry out horse poo before you use it is to get rid of the ammonia.

I wouldn't want to eat shrooms from someone pissing on a cake!

Urine IS pretty sterile...I've had a Biology professor tell me that you can pee in someone's eyes if they have something bad in them--like a piece of grit or a chemical--and you don't have any water or eye wash solutions...

I, personally, would worry about the ammonia goofing things up, though...I think this because I also piss on my feet in the shower to keep away athlete's foot and it has worked for me...although, maybe it would work--try it!!!

I would stick to just dunking in plain H2O, though...

Now that is just plain nasty!

Yes Urine is pretty sterile.....they used to pee on Soldiers that had chest wounds during Viet Nam....and they still do as far as I know.

But we are talking about mushroom growing!
Mushrooms don't like ammonia....this l know.
And Urine also contains alot of salt too.
