birthing straight to coldshock/dunk?

i know this topic has been discussed quite a bit, but im still unclear on one issue. when dunking/cold shocking directly from birth, should you still wait for primordia to appear, or will the dunk be bad for the primordia? if so, then should you dunk as soon as the mycelium is covering the whole surface area of the jar? thanx....the tek my friend is using says wait for primordia, but it also isnt calling for a dunk.....im not sure when he should do it......any help?

Dunk as soon as you take the cake out of the jar. Don't wait for primordia.

There was a thread about EXACTLY this topic about 3 days ago. When cakes are dunked they are handled quite a bit, that could hurt the primordia.

Dunk as soon as the cake pops out of the jar!

yes..... my question though......is WHEN exactly to take them out of the jar, not how long after do i dunk......before primordia appears, or should i follow the tek and wait for primordia its ok though, ripple already answered my question......thanx anyways

once the cake is fully colonized,
it's perfectly safe to open the jar,
dunk if desired/needed, then return to jar
to await primordia if that's what you want.
or if you are gentle and careful, you can dunk a cake
with small primordia, but that's best done outside the jar.
