hey all, here some pics of a meat thermometer i got from Tom Thumb, for $5...

the vendors here are sellin ones for $20+, and theyre really long. this one obviously is short, and thats how i need it for my oven bags...
if anyone knows why this style might not work, let me know.
if itll work just fine, then compliment my sweet grab.
btw, im bored....

I cant think of a reason why it wouldnt work.

it will be poked into the substrate of one bag, and then covered by a second bag.
this is why i got the short one. just seemed like it'd be impossible to do with the long one...
its nice tho, the needle sounds like metal when i tap it, but the dial says pyrex so....

Good find bro. I don't know about you, but when I go to Walmart or the grocery store, I am contantly on the lookout for something that will help me cultivate. LOL
It is almost an obsession. I told my wife I wanted to go to the Container Store, she asked me if I was turning gay. LOL

It's like the one I use. Test it by placing the probe in boiling water. It should read 212F if you're at sea level. RR

You should be able to find a chart online. Google "boiling point of water at altitude".

I use these. I think they are the same but just a different color. They are not truly Meat Thermometers but could be used for it. Meat thermometers are designed to go into Bbq's, oven, etc and are not as accurate as these are. I think I bought these at walmart for under $5

In cooking school, they told us to use cold water with some ice in it..As it will be 32f, no matter where you are..
