Popper! Funny you mention him, I just got done reading his works. At the beginning, he was so staunch about scientific falsificatoin, then as he got older you can see him loosen up a bit.

I'm reading him now actually. I'm piciking at the Logic of Scientific discovery and Conjectures & Refutations for a paper I'm going to write on causal inferences (and their fallacy) in psychology (which is the other half of my dual major). Another really good read in the philosophy of science is anything by Wesley Salmon. I haven't read much yet but I like his style.

not too familiar with Salmon. I'll check him out.

If you're writing about Popper, you should read some Larry Laudan. He analyzed Poppers Demarcating Criteria of Sciences. Kuhn is good too.

Titles (in order):

Karl Popper: Science: Conjectures and Refutations.

Thomas S. Kuhn: Logic of Discovery or Psychology of Research?

Imre Lakatos: Science and Pseudoscience.

Paul R. Thagard: Why Astrology Is a Pseudoscience.

Michael Ruse: Creation-Science Is Not Science.

Larry Laudan: Commentary: Science at the Bar - Causes for Concern.

Feb. 12: Michael Ruse: Response to the Commentary.

Topic 2 - Theory Change in Science.

Karl Popper: The Problem of Induction.

Pierre Duhem: Physical Theory and Experimentation.

Feb. 28: Thomas S. Kuhn: The Nature and Necessity of Scientific Revolutions.

Thomas S. Kuhn: Objectivity, Value Judgement and Theory Choice.

Ernan McMillin: Rationality and Paradigm Change in Science.

Larry Laudan: Demystifying Underdetermination.

Larry Laudan: Dissecting the Holistic Picture of Scientific Change.

Off to the bar! Happy Reading!

I've often sat and thought to myself "nothing has to exist; there's really no reason for it to. Why does it?". It makes absolutely no sense when you think about it.
