Scary "trippin grin" i've seen, that someone saw in me

I have no way to really describe this cheeky almost mischievious grin i get when me and my buddies talk about tripping.
Basicly, A long time ago, when i first started kicking around the idea of growing boomers, i was sitting on a bench beside my garage with my friend (at the time) kyle. At this point it was probably a good year exactly since i tripped off of anything credible.
Anyways, kyle and i were talking about tripping and for like a spit second i saw this grin he had while talking about tripping that scared me from wanting to trip, the grin wasnt like a grin on your face that you cant wipe off but more like a split second window into something darker.
But yeah, a few years later
the other night i was talking to my friend john after hooking him up with alittle on the line of the fungus and he was chilling with me and ben, ben and i started talking about tripping. John saw the grin in both of us for a 1/4 of a second and was so scared that he asked if i wanted to buy the shrooms backs. This is a man who has tripped before and will more than likely trip again (being as i didnt want to buy them back).
I wonder if anyone else has had any kinda similar experience with a "scary" grin in relation to tripping.

Why would a grin made during the thought of tripping be scary?

I guess if you watched "IT" the movie, you can kinda compare it to pennywises grin in the sewer scene.

Not exactly sure what you mean. Why would you describe your grin as being "scary". Do you plan on doing something bad? Don't do that. Do something good.

What kind of creepy? There are many creepy grins out there meaning diffferant things. They do all mean that Your Soul Is Mine.

I know what you mean, I think it's the eyes more than anything. I tend to have a look like that on my face all the time and it freaks some people out. Its a look like "I have a secret, and your about to be a part of it"

I know what you are talking about. It's one of those grins where you can see the intenseness in their eyes. It's like an excited, driven intense type look that has a hint of maliciousness.
It's kind of unsettling, especially when tied in with psychedelics. One of my friends got balls out on 5 grams of mushrooms at a festival a few years back and every time someone gave him that grin he was absolutely convinced they were Satan.

Yeah, I think I get this.

I think that describes my idea of it, but I don't necessarily associate it with maliciousness (poor choice of word?) but maybe rather with mischievousness.
To me, it is the "I've-seen-the-other-side-of-sanity" look.
Funny, when I read the original post, this popped into my head for some reason:

This is funny casue its exactly what my friend ben said too, its more like "i know something big and your involved"

YEAH, the grin has that kinda effect on me, where it is that kinda mischivieous grin you would expect satan to have. Thinks is really shedding alot of light on this strange phenomina
I also like that "So i've seen the other side of sanity" thing that was said.

...has anyone thought about how a smile is strangely close to an aggressive act...baring your teeth etc...
I am going to eat you...*grins displaying what I will use*

hm...yes. From what I can see...this is appears true of primates. I was approaching from the wrong angle.
"Some experts believe that the human smile evolved, not from feelings of happiness, but from the "silent bared-teeth display"-often called a "grimace"-that certain primates make when they are feeling threatened or startled. You know the look: lips pulled back to reveal all those monkey teeth. But this primate "smile" might actually mean "I'm afraid of you. Please don't attack me. I'm nice." "
