Looking between the Canon Powershot 790 and the 850 and even the 630

I'm pretty dumb when it comes to camera so I'm not going to pretend I know anything. But the 790 has a whole two more megapixels for ~60 more dollars. Is that worth it? Does anyone have any examples of the same picture taken with a 8mp and a 10mp camera?
I plan on using it in just basic life stuff. Taking pictures of people, places, cool stuff. Nothing for a career or anything.
I did some more research and some people even recommended the 630:

I have the A650.
I think it's a great camera, if a little fragile. I've had to send it back to Canon twice for repairs but they've fixed it for free both times.
The pictures are awesome.

The cheaper one has more optical zoom. Thats what I like. I think both have enough megapixels.

I have no experience with those cameras. 8 vs 10MP is a small difference and should not be a driving factor.
Here are two equal comparison shots: http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/SD790IS/FULLRES/SD790IShSLI0080.HTM http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/SD850IS/FULLRES/SD850IShSLI0080.HTM
The SD790IS has a larger screen and small design with few buttons. The SD850IS has more zoom and a viewfinder (and smaller lcd screen).
If image quality, shooting at low light conditions without flash, normal AA batteries that can be bought everywhere in case of travel, a better flash, manual zoom/aperture/speed and 6x zoom is more important than the small size of the camera, I would look into the PowerShot A720. I'm very happy with my a720. a720 pic: http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/A720IS/FULLRES/A720IShSLI0080.HTM
The only disadvantage is the size of the camera. Image quality of the "ultra compacts" like the SD850 is still very good though so go with that if you want a small, easy camera that makes great basic stuff pics. I wouldn't pay the extra $60 for the 10MP.

I might go with that 720. We'll see. It's so hard to make a decision.

Do you know anywhere I can buy it really cheap? I can find it for $155 but is that the best price out there?
Ebay sucks because people just spam it with new stuff that's buy it now.

I don't know where to best buy in the US.
Make sure you think twice about the size. The "ulta compact" cameras are really handy for carrying in your pocket and taking quick pics. Just to make sure you get the difference.
Buy 4 rechargeable AA batteries with a high capacity (>2500 mAh) if you go for the A720 (and a charger if you don't have one).

I have the SD850IS and it is THE SHIT. You should get that one hands down if you are looking for a reasonable priced compact camera with image stabilization.
