Well I'll agree with you on the last one. And yes, the sun can be extremely damaging to the dermis.
You know thats why your body tells you to get your ass out of the sun by developing huge sores with peeling skin. When was the last time your microwave did that?

You are dumbfounded allot spock, i just haven't seen you come up with anything intelligent to back up why your so shocked at what people are saying.
Is it because you don't understand the words on the screen? Are you dumbfounded by the concept of a sunburn?
Or is it the idea that your body can tell you when your doing yourself harm that dumbfounds you?

I don't eat microwave/prepared food so I'm not sure what your referring to.

boxcarguy07 said: I think sunscreen causes cancer, not the sun
I agree with you, it does.
1. It blocks the sun's rays... which blocks the creation of the essential vitamin D. The nutrient that the human body needs to prevent as many as 25 chronic diseases including cancer. Probably the single most important nutrient to staying healthy and alive, and the sun is the only real source. Vitamin D from food sources only provides a small fraction of your body's needs.
2. Suntan lotion contains toxic chemicals in the form of artificial fragrance, chemical colors and petroleum products used as fillers. Commonly used chemicals like octy-methoxycinnamate have been shown to disrupt hormones affecting the brain and reproductive organs in rats. Padimate-O is known to do damage to DNA when illuminated with sunlight.
3. You are not just covering your skin with it. The skin is a living, breathing, organ.. when you slather that toxic goo all over it, it is a twofer. You are preventing the (BENEFICIAL) rays of the sun from penetrating your skin and providing you with those essential vitamins, and you are also applying a toxic product to your skin, which absorbs into your skin and gets into your bloodstream.
Small wonder the American Cancer Society tells you to use sunscreen every day. Sunscreen sales go up every year. So does cancer. Cancer is a huge industry. Huge. Huge industry = profit.
So keep getting cancer and keep feeding the machine.
What they don't tell you, is that the best defense is a natural internal sunscreen.. built with nutrition. Eating chlorella, spirulina, goji berries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, carrots and other such super-foods naturally boosts your skin's UV protection. It takes about 30 days of eating such foods to build up the defenses in your skin, but well worth it, I would say.

By comparison, microwaves from the sun are based on principles of pulsed direct current (DC) that don't create frictional heat; microwave ovens use alternating current (AC) creating frictional heat.
I stopped reading there. It's like the ravings of a schizophrenic. Grammatically correct but without meaning.

Precisely. People look at me like I'm crazy when I tell them they shouldn't write on their skin with pen because it'll absorb into their bloodstream. I've learned to just shut up around my friends when it comes to dietary habits and whatnot.
Oh, and blewmeanie, my comment wasn't really directed at you personally.

I've taken upper div courses in biological sciences including bio chemistry. But don't feel bad, you on the other hand are vary well read on hippy bullshit propaganda websites and youtube.
If you were the scientific thinker you present yourself as, if you held any real value in the scientific community and what it stands for. You would see the how hypocritical it is using science to back up your thoughts and then turn to a completely scientifically unsound site such as the one posted and preach its word.

I don't think my government has an opinion either way on the use of centimeter waves to heat up food.
I do see people believing any old technobabble when it fits their beliefs, and treating as "evil" any technology that they don't understand. This is propaganda.
Point me to some peer-reviewed double blind studies with proper controls showing significant differences in the same food heated in a conventional oven and in a microwave oven and I will take a long hard open minded look at it.

Now that's a sound reason.
