Do You Use A Plastic Liner On Your Tubs?

Do most of you use some kind of plastic or something similar on top of your tubs between the tubs and their lids to help keep moisture in or would this hurt fresh exchange too much?

If your holes are on top, then it would definitely cut off air too much. Fresh Air Exchange is very important. Peace

if you line your tub with a black plastic trashbag and then cut it down to the level of your substrate the plastic will shrink as your sub does, preventing those pesky gaps between the tub and substrate that side pins love so much, and it cuts down the light reaching the sides/bottom of your substrate significantly, also keeping down the pesky side pinning. BUT.. at the end of the day there are worse things you can have than side pinning

Whats your setup? I used to just crumpled up a whole brown rice cake, put a lair of peat moss potting soil on the bottom of a plastic tobacco can, put the crumpled cake, then a lair on the top. I would just leave the lid loose and air it out and mist it once a day. Did pretty good for what I needed it for, but killed it after the first flush, cause All I wanted was enough for me and a few buds. We got high, and it was an awesome night. Now I'm working on edibles

I use trays for the casings and put them in tubs with perlite on the bottom for moisture. I also don't use polyfil holes for FAE at all. I just manually mist and fan about 3-4 times a day.
I've had a bit too many aborts from this set up. So, I was thinking that maybe having a plastic liner on the top of the tubs between the tub itself and the lid was sealing off the tub too much and not allowing enough air exchange.

FAE is very important, but I don't see any problems in your methods. Looks like it should work great! I didn't even use perlite, and only misted/FAE once a day. I did get some aborts too, but I wasn't too worried about them, because I was using the Argentina strain, and it pins like a... pimply little school boy with acne to the max! not enough aborts to worry about though. Peace, and good luck in your journey
