Ur mind

Not sure if this is where this should be so if it's not I'm sorry.
So as everyone knows u don't use very much of ur brain. But u can "wake it up" or whatever and do some pretty awsome shit. Like control ur heartbeat and balance and ur muscles in ur body, all with ur mind.
This I think would be awsome, but I don't know how to wake my mind up. I know meditation is part of it, but I dont know much about this.
Any references or information on this stuff would be very much appreciated.

The first time I really "woke up" and discovered something my mind could do was through lucid dreaming. For those of you who dont know, lucid dreaming is the "act" of becoming as conscious as you are in regular life (like right now while reading this) all while in a dream. The feeling is quite immaculate. The feeling to me is like experiencing another world.I could explain for hours however there is a quite amazing site/forum at dreamviews.com
Enjoy the ride

The first step is to focus intently on physical cultivation. Something such as Tai Chi, Yoga, or dance would be obvious choices in this endeavor. It is impossible to control your heartbeat without first learning to sense it.

Well thank u. And I'm gonna try those. I've always wanted to do yoga too but I'd like to take classes it's kinda hard to watch a dvd and try and do it.
Thanks for the site reference I'ma check it out. I've heard bout lucid dreaming, it's pretty hard to accomplish tho ain't it? Cuz I had this dream last night that I really wish could have been lucid. Sometimes I wish I could just go to my dreams and be there physically. Lucid dreaming would be the next best thing

This is a myth. It is definitely possible to develop new skills, but this is not because we are activating massive dormant areas of our brain. We use all of the brain, but we tend to use it in habituated ways. When we challenge our brain to work in unaccustomed manners, we maintain neurological growth and flexibility throughout adulthood and old age.
Meditation, crossword puzzles, ballroom dancing, chess...whatever is new and interesting, and asks more of your brain than your daily routine, will keep your mind "awake."

Awesome indeed. I would recommend researching chakras and kundalini. Toss out the new age crap and find out what's up.

Lucid dreaming has always been there throughout my whole life. It's pretty neat. Some nights I have more control than others, some nights I don't have control at all but I am just aware that I am dreaming, and other nights are just plain ole dreams.

I can control my dreams to a point but not completely and sometimes what I can't control makes me really mad. Well not really mad just like "damn"
