Consistancy of the substraite?

I made my substraite with 1/2 pint jars. I used 52 Ml of wather 1/2 verm. and 1/4 cup of brf. Now, is the substraite supposed to be quite damp to the touch? And does the Verm. clump together? My sust. sorta looks like oat meal...is this normal?

It should be damp and should clump when squeezed, but you should also be able to easily break it apart. You don't want anything that's too wet.
