Fan Drying?!

How efficiant is fan Drying? My desicant is really wet looking and water is starting to form at the bottom, and i dont feel like going to get more at 10 at night..

it works ok but the dessicant is the best. Fan dry for a day or two before you put them in the dessicant. Did you just put them in there fresh? That could be why theres so much water.

yes, ive been putting them in the dessicant chamber right after i pick um.. i didnt know to fan dry first.. so if i put them on the fan until the morning they will be fine? and not rot?

Fan on high dries 'em faster, as I understand it....

I found a nice wire basket at wallmart in the bathroom accessories dept. It's big enough to hold quite a bit and has legs that leave space under the basket for air flow. Works well with my fan on medium. Dries out the shroomies in 24 hours.

Wet desiccant still works.

You can bake it in the oven to dry it out.

No way man don't put them in the oven, they lose potency.
Fan dry 1-2 days, and then throw them in your dessicant chamber for 1-2 days.

Do you realize how much heat it takes to destroy psilocybin and psilocin? Putting them in the oven on low heat will certainly not degrade them. The key is drying them quickly. Water is the enemy.

The higher setting on the fan will dry it faster. What kind of dessicant is being used in this situation? If it's dry-rite it dissolves when it's spent, so it's not reuseable, but it's cheap. I dry mine with the fan untill there dry but flexable, then put them in the dessicant chamber to make them cracker dry.

My pussy's been fan drying for 24-48 hours and has had good results. She places them behind the fan where the air is sucked in on a cooling rack. She said none have rotted. If she wants to store them longer then she'll use dessicant.
