wait for primordia before dunk?

so my friends jars are just about 100% colonized (the surface area of the glass anyways) His question is this.....if he plans to cold shock/dunk these cakes, should he still wait untill primordia shows up to birth or no? The PF tek suggests this, but im not sure if it is different when dunking.

I wouldnt. During dunking the cake is usually handled quite a bit and touches the walls of the dunking container. If small primoridia formed they would likley be damaged or killed during dunking.

Do it right after birthing, then wait for pinns

thats what i thought.....so he should just birth them a coulpe days after covering the whole area of the glass?
