Sounds like you had a pretty good day.
It was packed full of different flavors... the good news, the greek salad, reading a book in the park, falling asleep in the park, waking up and mooning some squares, a little paranoia, and an asshole. You should hope that everyday is as diverse.

I seek such days... almost everyday (moderation... breaks are necessary).

When I was younger I had a lot of days like that in comparison to nowadays. When you live in wide circles it is possible to have days filled with events like the ones you described. For example, in my twenties I lived in Manhatten. Such days were pretty common place. Now I live in small circles out of a deliberate attempt to succeed in certain areas while ignoring the rest. I do not need the distraction as I once did. Certain people seek out experiences as a means to escape the mundane existence of ordinary life. I had a friend who loved to collect experiences like others collect baseball cards. If there was something new he had to try it. It was the only way he could feel alive. I think that we all paint meaning, as a fine veneer, over life's experiences.

It sounds like you are growing.

Have fun!

I think that we all paint meaning, as a fine veneer, over life's experiences

Does this mean that meaning is superficial and life is ultimately meaningless? Are experiences "given" meaning? Is meaning only created after the fact, through a mental process? Or does it exist right there in the moment?

Experiences just happen...they are what they are...they have no meaning other than that which we assign to them.
