"If we could sniff or swallow something that would, for five or six hours each day, abolish our solitude as individuals, atone us with our fellows in a glowing exaltation of affection and make life in all its aspects seem not only worth living, but divinely beautiful and significant, and if this heavenly, world-transfiguring drug were of such a kind that we could wake up next morning with a clear head and an undamaged constitution - then, it seems to me, all our problems (and not merely the one small problem of discovering a novel pleasure) would be wholly solved and earth would become paradise." - Aldous Huxley

on acid a month ago or so i was getting some wood for this fire we had inside.

i threw the wood in the fire and my arm started welting up and was itchy as fuck. and two sdpider bite marks appeared on my arm. i didnt know what had bit me as i hadn't seen it, but it freaked the fuck out of me (we have funnelwebs, black widows, white tips and redbacks here in tas) and i was asking my friend if he would take me to the hospital.

i rang 000 (the emerg number in aus) and said "i think ive been bitten by something, we're an hour away from the hospital, and my friend is going to drive me... he's had 1 seep of a beer and he's on his P's, can you just look out for us"

bitch on the end of the line says "federal law states that provisional drivers will have 0% alcohol in their bodies... we will charge you for drink driving"

luckily I hadn't been bitten by anytthing deadly, as my friend just told me to chill the fuck out

damn i was paranoid

Sounds like they are pretty strict about drinking and driving over there.

it's not so bad, I mean I'm as much against drink driving as the government is.

The law states when you are a Learner ('L plater', which means you must have a person with a full license in the car with you at all times) or 'Provisional ("p-Plater which means you can drive alone but can't travel over 80km/h (100km/h on the mainland)) aren't allowed to have any alcohol in their body.

A fuly licensed driver is allowed to have up to 0.05% in their bodies. They've introduced road side drug testing as well, although it's not that common. They do saliva tests on the roadside, if it shows positive for anything they take you back to the bus for further testing.

Shit's getting hardcore in AU.

Glad its not like that YET in the US.
I too am all for strict rules against drunk driving but, Roadside drug testing? I would personally go to the motor vehicle dept and turn in my license and never drive again.

well it's not so bad I guess, except for pot. But we do have a lot of drivers jacked out on meth or whatever that could be a danger. I suppose if it makes driving safer it would be fine. It just sucks about weed. That shit makes me driver better IMO.
