I was thinking about using a nice rotten moist log to either inoculate with either mycelium or spore syringe of maybe so creepers from THE LITTLE GUY .......and leaving it in a shaded place outside in the woods makinf sure it stays moist will this possibly work? I heard from a friend their friend use to do it and it worked. peace fellow cultivators!

You'd be better off inoculating it with an oyster culture or shiitake.
Cubensis prefer straw/grain/dung

Good luck

I actualy had a idea similar to this. I though about getting an old somewhat rotten log. One that would absorb alot of water. Saw about four feet long. On both ends carve out some flower pots. These would be filled with soil and planted with whatever. In the center hollow out a section where substrate could be put. The cubies actualy grow on the substrate (obviously) and the log is basicly just a water resivior. Watering the plants would provide moisture for substrate. I thought it would look pretty cool to have the shrooms growing in the center with some butiful plants on either side.

Be all and you'll be to end all
