Best open source php ecommerce/shopping cart

I have installed oscommerce and played around with it, seems great. There are many available and wanted to know who's worked with what and what you think the best option is? I just wanted to get some second opinions before I install oscommerce on the production server.

The site is going to be used to sell medical equipment(for a client). They want something simple, elegant, yet effective. They were planning on using paypal as the method of payment(for now anyway) so it needs to be compatible unless someone else has a better option than paypal. Right now, their traffic and sales will be a minimum, but they plan on marketing the website and eventually making it a focus point of their business, hopefully.

Anyway, let me hear what you think?

damn, no one had any experience with them? There are so many good looking options. OScommerce I think might be ruled out. Right now I am looking into magento or even phpShop and them customizing is completely to fit my needs. But magento has a look and feel that I really like. I tried their demo and it's cool, and I know people would like to use it.

I've only used OScommerce. I did NOT like it, but seemed to be the best solution at the time.

zencart might be worth looking at.

magento looks nice. my biggest problem with oscommerce was the way the templates were implemented, very dirty.

I agree as that's why I a was already looking for another alternative. I am going to use megento until I find time to put together my own.
