This one has been posted before, but it's over 3 years old and no longer viewable.
These pictures are not fantastic quality. It seems my phone even in HDR mode, is taking crappier and crappier pics. Dropped it too many times I suppose.
The orange discoloring at the center is normal for this species.
Omphalotus nidiformis

Some lit shots, the side lit shot shows the cottony surface texture.

Nice, thick, rhizomorphic growth on that, hope you are able to get it to fruit.

Wow!
Did you clone it or germinate spores? What kind of agar medium is it?
By the way, Psilocybe weraroa mycelium grows like crazy on wood chips from the European beech (Fagus sylvatica).

Thanks I germinated spores then isolated pure cultures, the agar is half strength MEA(the first image I played with the contrast to produce the black background), on grain it is not as rhizomorphic but then returns to very rhizomorphic growth when sawdust is inoculated.
That's great to hear about the Beech chips, I'm sure it will fruit from that substrate when your conditions are favourable

Hey dude, if you don't mind sharing any progress you have with this species, we're using the same culture, my aquamarina growlog is here.

I don't think we can definitively call it that species without further study, fruit bodies from your cultures must be carefully compared with the type collection...

What should we call it? I have changed the name on my plates once already.
I can do it again.

We should simply call it Psilocybe sp. 'Shrine collection'. Possibly in Section Stuntzae, possibly Sect. Cubensae...

Absolutely! Once I get it to grains, I'm planning on doing a grow log.
