I don't have the recipe for the borscht at the moment. Here's how to make BA, if you're crazy enough. Get the soup. For half a liter, mix in 10g agar-agar. Done.
I measured pH at around 7, 6.9 maybe. Added a few pinches of calcium carbonate, it didn't make much difference on pH, if any.
Back to pictures. Some P. ovoid., they are much more regular in shape.
And with those things went south. Transfers from dirty grain, dirty cardboard.

Tiger Sawgill (Lentinus tigrinus) spawn plug I'm cleaning up. I took 2 transfers from it initially and cloned some tissue from the first fruit it spit out. This culture just keeps popping out pups

P. serbica, the mycelium is eating red coloring. I find the ditch between left and center pieces interesting. Couldn't they unite?

I loved how my Serbica pushed between the agar and the glass in the slant...

Nice colors in your agars. I once tested using red cabbage in my agar. Changed its color along with the growing mycelium as the pH went down ...

Not mycelium but still fun: agar art! This is non-pathogenic E. coli modified to produce different fluorescent proteins. The first view is natural light, and the second is blue light with an orange filter. I painted the basic outlines with swabs, then went back after incubating them for a few days to trace the finer details with toothpicks.

Can you explain what is going on here?
Is serbica from the wedge and the right side is a contaminate?

That is correct. Notice how the serbica's mycelium border changes where they come in contact.

That's cool bacillus, it looks like a premature consolidation effort to deny substrate to the competitor. Glad you like the Cheshire Cat, I noticed too late that he has no whiskers.

Crazy rhizos, Shu, and some variability there!
Another day, another Pacman attack. And after five days. I wonder if it's the mold Pacman. Slow growing for mold.
Revenge of the actives: ovoids nibbling at Aspergillus (five o'clock).

It's very dark green, been growing slowly for about a month, I guess.
