hi guys,
well i'm new to the gym. i'm really interested in hitting the treadmill as i've never been that good a runner and would really like to get better at it by improving my cardio fitness and well would love to lose a bit of weight at the same time, maybe a stone/1.6 kilos or so.
Can anyone be so helpful as to offer me some suggestions on the best ways/routines to improve my cardio/stamina and lose some weight too?
At the moment I can only really do 10-15 mins (pathetic) before i'm out of breath.
Thanks! I appreciate it

Keep the treadmill on an incline of at least 3 to simulate outdoor running.
Check out the couch to 5k running program, here:
Whatever you do, don't build up too fast. Running is addicting, and it's easy to believe you can go much farther then what your body is ready for. I got addicted, hurt my knee overdoing it, and now I am forced into low-impact exercise, like biking, which I don't mind, because biking is awesome, but still. I can't wait to run again. Take rest days.
Good luck...

Do you have a bike?
I like to just hop on and race around residential streets.

bikes are definitely the way to go, if you do run get some good shoes and run on soft ground.

our workplace has a tax scheme on bike so you can claim the tax back if you buy through work (I don't work for a bike shop!!), am thinking that that might be a really good idea, especially with summer just round the corner!
went to the gym tonight...lost my membership and credit card in there...totally put me off form...never even made it on to the treadmill...now I have to wait another 6 days to get a replacement for my credit card.
Moral of the story...dont take your credit card to the gym.
