small or weak bladder
    #8303850 - 04/19/08 09:14 AM (16 years, 21 hours ago)

I pee a good 10 times per day. I'm young so I don't think its an enlarged prostate, but I feel like I just don't hold that much pee.

Usually when I have to go I'd say it lasts for like 6-7 seconds but sometimes if I'm sleeping or really busy with something I might double that amount. I just don't understand how so many people can hold it for like 5, 6, 7 hours no problem.

I have tried to exercise the strength of my bladder by just practicing holding it, but if you're out and about it is really impractical. I actually had to jump off of the subway and drag my friend off, on the last train of the night, and pee on the tracks in front of everyone.

I've found that the problem is compounded in an urban, sedentary environment.

In nature you can piss wherever you want and it's fun to piss. Exercise naturally helps to sweat and circulate the fluid in your body, balanced out by thirst to increase fluid levels to the optimum.

May I guess that you have a high metabolism? Do you already avoid sugar drinks, caffeine, and alcohol?

I think I have a pretty high metabolism, my weight has always been pretty consistent.

I don't drink sugary drinks but have a few cups of green tea a day and I think I notice the diuretic effect of them. Usually if I drink alcohol I'll be in a situation where I am able to pee a lot (e.g. the bar).

So true.

Brad - I have the same issue, lots and lots of PEEING. I drink a ton of water everyday, so I'm glad that it means my body is functioning normally, but I've always had a smaller bladder.

(Was a bed-wetter until mid-teenage years - talk about embarrassing)

could be a weak bladder or frequent urination is also an early symptom of diabetes
