Firefox issues.
    #8303624 - 04/19/08 06:19 AM (16 years, 1 month ago)

So firefox is updated, the latest version or whatever.. but when I try to use it for certain websites, for instance the Google search toolbar, it won't load the pages.

If I fire up IE and use that, it will work, but inevitably crash or freeze (as IE is prone to doing, which is why I don't care to use it ever again if I don't have to).

Any idea as to what might be causing this?

It just says "waiting for (insert web URL)..." and continues "loading" but never shows anything.

This probably won't help, but do a control-alt-delete and make sure all instances of Firefox.exe are terminated, then re-open and try again.

Just an idea...

Completely uninstall Firefox and download the latest version and reinstall? Weird issue.

I already tried, that was like the first thing I did when it started being weird.  Didn't work.

I guess I'll just reformat.  :foreheadslap:

Seems like it's some kind of conflicting add-on or some shit.

Reformatted already. I used the restore disc that came with my computer and did the reset with it. It seems to be working very well now, firefox included.

I would imagine something in your firefox profile was dodgy. If it happens again try this, close all instances of firefox and go to start, run, and type in "firefox.exe -ProfileManager".
