Cakes bruising after only 4 days in FC, before first flush...

My humidity sits right at 96%, temps range from 72-78F. They were put in my FC only 4 days ago. I have been misting 4 times a day and fanning right afterwards. Light is on 8 hours a day, Off the rest.
Should I just dunk them right now again for 8 hours?
100% sure they aren't contams...
Thanks for any info.
(No pins yet, only spikes from mycelium reaching out)

Stop molesting them .
You may find that in some cases, these fungi under oxidative stress will bruise without any physical disturbance - its a chemical reaction to an oxidant (such as O2).

Ok so I was reading a Roadkill post and he said something about injecting the cakes with 10cc of water for 1pint and 5cc water for 1/2 pints.
I did just that last night, all the bruising is gone and looks like knots are starting to appear overnight.
Wow...

Alright, it doesn't seem like they were knots... more spikes. Bluing is gone though.
Its been seven days, I feel like these aren't going to pin. (newbie paranoia)
I've read on average it takes atleast 10 days to see pins. Can anyone confirm this? Am I doing something wrong, causing pins to show up later?

No not exactly a week. Some 3 days, some 5...
It won't hurt it right? Just take longer to produce pins?
I need to work on my patience it seems.

Really? I read you shouldn't do that.
Do you pick them before you dunk them? I'm sure they end up rotting if you don't, right?

So I woke up this morning to what looked like 1 single pin.
Came home from work today and its doubled in size. No knots that gave it away, just a pin that showed up.
Sucks that its only a single.

More will come. It took my cakes about 2 weeks to fruit. They were also bruising like yours. I found that the double end casing helped a lot with that. Good luck.

I hit the jackpot today with a 'retired' canner I found on craigslist.
Got a Pressure Canner/Cooker that holds 38 1/2 pint jars. A food dehydrator and about 60$ of misc. glass jars & new tops.
All for $75 in primo condition.
My next batch is gonna be gooooood.

Damn Miss Cleo!... 6 more just popped up!
I took one of my smaller cakes and put it in the freezer for about 5 mins to teach it a lesson. Put it back in the FC, it must have got on the mycelium cellphone and told the other cakes whats up. Cuz now they are puttin out.
Freezer = 'Mycelium water boarding' It works
