U know those big ass planters that u see at the malls sometimes that hold small trees?? They're about 5 ft. tall, what would happen if u filled like 4 ft. w. colonized substrate and 1 ft. of casing layer??

Well I mean, would they be like HUGE ass shrooms?? Because u see those shrooms like a foot long grown out of mycobags. They look like those freakin big circus lollipops and stuff. So if u had 4 ft. of substrate, could u grow like some 3 ft. tall shrooms??

I dont think it would be a good idea to to make a small casing that deep. I think you would be better off spreading out your 4ft of substrate over a wider and shallower area.

The bottom and core would become anaerobic and kill the mycelium, then contaminate with thermophillic molds or bacteria. 12-18 inches and anaerobic conditions become harmful for mycelium and favorable for contams.

Unless you allowed for some type of active airation of course.

Holland is fun, but I feel like the dried shrooms I purchased at the "Smart Shop" were weak. Ate them on the way to the Van Gogh museum and even though I tripped, I didn't get the visuals I was hoping for. Too bad. The paintings were awesome.

Mushrooms grow better in our wet moist country. They don't like hurricanes and earthquakes.

Our country is so large that we have areas with a climate just like Holland and a whole lot more. By the way, I've been to Holland and it was ok. I think the standard of living is much higher in the USA even though we have ridiculous drug and prostitution laws. If the USA would decriminalize marijuana, I would have very few complaints. Thank God we get ice in our drinks when we go out to eat. I hate drinking lukewarm beer and sodas!!

Cool. I was just wondering what you were thinking when you said this (about America): When did it stop sucking??

Even though we have backwards drug laws, this is still a great country to live in. I've travelled in Europe, N. America, and Asia; and I feel that America has the most diversity and opportunity that I have ever seen. Sure, Europe has it's quaint old world charms. We don't have the Oude Kerk here, but we do have much to be proud for.

And if it wasn't for the USA, you'd be speaking German right now...

Usa is nice country, as is any democratic country......but if you really do love your country, show respect for everyone else.
