p. cubensis clay sculpture

I'm making a sculpture of EQ fruits growing in their natural habitat.
The sculpture is going to have grass and other details, and when I am done sculpting I am going to paint it.
This is the thread that I will use to post my process, and it will also serve to give me some motivation to finish this project.
I am using Super Sculpey mixed with Feemo (sp?).
When I am done I will bake it, paint everything white, then paint the colors on top of that.
I want to get as photo realistic as possible.
Let me know what you think as this moves along, constructive criticism is welcome.

Shit, forgot the picture:
It might not look like much right now, but it will look a lot better soon.

Haha, once I get the caps on it will cover the metal supports and it won't look so much like a penis mangler.
Sculpting is so time consuming, but I can completely get lost doing it and the hours slip by pretty quickly.

Thanks for the enthusiasm Rugergirl
I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to make the grass... I am saving that for the end, but I'm not sure yet how I'm going to make it look right. I might go a different route but I'm not sure yet.

why dont you make a lip around the edges of the bottom, line the outside with rocks, and make it deep enough to put soil & plant real grass?

Thats actually a really good idea, I just don't think the sculpture is big enough for that. And watering the grass might make the paint run.
I'll think about it.

thats a sweet idea! You could glaze over the paint and then the water wouldnt affect it.

Yeah, but I don't like the look of glazed paint.
Don't like the shininess. I'm sure I can figure something out.
Real grass is such a cool idea.

P.S. I decided that I am going to use real grass, thanks 40oz for the idea.
That is why I am making the new base, so it will be able to hold soil and grass.
