Has anyone here been on an Ayahuasca healing vacation in the Amazon? I'm thinking about going on one next year so would like to hear about experiences and organised trips.

Think the quality of ayahuasca you get over there can be pretty low. Without the material to do a high level extraction you can get some pretty horrendous side effects. A friend of mine was sat on the toilet (a hole in the ground) for around 6 hours with the worst diarhoea of his life. No trip - just physical side effects. Low quality brew. Plus the fact that there are so many con artists around you'd be lucky to find anyone who knew much.
You can make a much cleaner brew at home.

Please let me know what you come up with. I am interested in this also.
I am meeting Marlene (Dobkin) de Rios in London in a few weeks, author of many books on Ayahuasqueros. I'm gonna pry some info out of her too.
I have been dreaming of a venture to the Amazon for a few years now, and my dreams usually manifest I also want to bring back spore prints.
Good luck

I found an advert in the most recent Trip magazine for:
www.ayahuasca-healing.net
I also found this site surfing:
www.biopark.org/sprtqu3.html
Looks interesting. Ayahuasca is certainly something I would love to try, especially if it is made by an authentic shaman and taken along with the ancient rituals. I'll keep you posted if I find anything more out.

Do you know if it's easy to grow the plants and make Ayahuasca? Do you know of any good sites on the subject?
