Hyphic knots? (pics)

These brf cakes have been in the FC for about 5 days. I havent seen any changes except for fluffy mycelium balls growing out of the cakes... are these the start of pins or is it just the mycelium continuing to colonize the verm on the outside?

Stop experimenting half way through your first grow. Grow it to maturity, watch it, learn from it. Do this a few times then experiment with different ideas and figure out what works best for you.

It's a sign that pinning will start soon, but those knots (which I believe are called primordia ??) won't actually turn into pins themselves.

hyphal knots become primordia. There is no evidence of either in those photos.

Your doing just fine!! I agree a light misting would help right now. 'Very light dropletts sitting on the substrate is a good thing right now since the humidity in there seems to be on the low side.

I have been misting them about once a day because I was afraid of misting too much, but I'll start doing it a few times a day. Thank guys :smile:
