Ok, first time grower.. think i made a couple mistakes, need a little insight on if i should continue leaving the jars to colonize. bought brown rice flour, some fine vermiculite, mixed with city water..the water difinitly had chloryne althought the jars were boiled for about 45 minutes. been 2-3 day's and im seeing a bit of white but not sure if this is just moisture build up from boiling, or actually cake forming. just brought the jars into an enviorment of around a stable 80 degrees.

abort and start with distilled water, or allow the jars to try to cake?

give it more time. they might not start to grow for a week or two. if you're antsy, just buy some new jars and innoculate those while you're waiting to see how the first batch goes.

99.9% of the time, in a developed country, tap water is fine.
