PC Video capture and output recommendations?
    #8276725 - 04/13/08 06:21 AM (16 years, 1 month ago)

Does anyone have any recommendations for a video capture PCI card? This will be used in a dual boot XP / Ubuntu system although primarily in the XP side of things. The software is an important consideration as well.

Also, is there such a thing as a good DVI-D or HDMI to S-video adapter?

Thanks

Edit: The capture card can be a PCIe_1 as well. Saw this one but have little experience with PCIe.

If you want S-video out, you need a modulator.  They are kind of old school... The one I use only accepts VGA, not DVI or HDMI.  Its real old, you cant buy it anymore.  New ones probably allow conversion from DVI (I doubt they can convert from HDMI).  Here is the one I use..http://www.shopping.com/xPF-Antec-TVator-Exec

Its funny you should mention that card... I am going to get that exact one in a few weeks when school is out.  (but I will get teh remote too)

I have no experience with it though, so there is nothing useful for me to say!  :tongue2:

Maybe a (IEEE1394)Firewire and/or USB card would do.
