That's right I fuckin love 80's music( although I enjoy almost every genre of music) I've created huge compilations of music and managed about 5 devoted to the 80's. Any other fans out there? I think the main reason I like them is it brings back fond childhood memories.

There's a lot of good new wave music.
Devo, Talking Heads, etc...

I like 80s music but most of it I only appreciate for nostalgic value. Songs that take me back:
Survivor - Eye of the Tiger Eurythmics - Missionary Man, Sweet Dreams Jon Bon Jovi - Livin' on a Prayer Whitney Houston - I Wanna Dance With Somebody Miami Sound Machine - Conga
Good shit that 80s crap.

How was it ever cool for rock and rollers to dress like women, grow their hair long and wear make up?

I used to black out regularly in front of the tube(after ingesting much beer and more than a few 5 mg valium) watching the much music "Power Hour". Here are some of my fuzzy recollections of the metal bands ot the time: Ratt, Cinderella,the Scorpions,Helloween*, Dokken,....oh fuck it, this is getting depressing I think out of ALL of them(reunion tours notwithstanding) the only one that made any lasting impression and who continues to produce new material even to this day would have to be guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen
* That wans't a typo so fuckoff

Yah I've often wondered that. The coolness of every other decade's style is still apparent, except the 80s. Poison and Ratt will never be cool again. I think it must have been some space-time anomaly that made the human population totally lose its taste for ten years.

Danger danger and Trixter were the only 2 I failed to recognize Scratcher, although I was severly tempted to edit my post and add several of the names you metioned. Conspicuous in their absence however were Grim Reaper,Tesla,Infernal Majesty,UZO,Lita Ford,Loudness,Winger,Warlock,(with Doro Pesch), Kingdom come, King Diamond,Giant,Europe,Vinnie Vincent's Invasion and Twisted sister

Go download 'Danger Danger - Bang Bang' and 'Trixter - One in a Million", both cool 80s metal songs. How did I miss VV Invasion??? Their first album was one of my favorites. Didn't Mark Slaughter sing for him later? Heh, forgot about Slaughter, I liked them too.

I'm not too sure about the Mark Slaughter question, I kinda got turned off the VV Invasion EARLY as a result of videos showing(what I considered) too much feminization to the band(especially VV). Seems to me like you probably spent more than your fair share of time at the Beacon B4 they tore it down
