Need Humidity Advice!
    #827464 - 08/19/02 08:09 AM (15 years, 9 months ago)

Here's the deal, my buddy will be working with casings placed in a large rubbermaid container under a bed. He is living in student housing and is concerned with people looking under his bed or hearing something running. He needs to figure out a setup but is debating which method to go with:
humidifier
perlite in container and fanned
air pump

which method would be the quietest??? Feel free to pm me and i will pass it on to him. This is a very serious issue for him!

Perlite would be the quietist of all. I have a air pump that is pretty quiet but if its dead silence in a room, you can hear it. Then you'll have it in some water where it will be making bubbles which will make more sound. I also have a cool mist which is pretty loud when its on but it only comes on for 10 min every 4 hours.

would a big deal of perlite be sufficient for casings?? I know that during the cropping period a lower RH is better but would my buddies crops still be good if all else was right and the humidity was high?

you could just fan more often or mist less often to lower the humidity.
