Modern Verbal Communication, the downfall of mankind

Lastnight i was thinking about the bible and how knowledge is associated with evil. Supposedly before eating from the tree of knowledge man spoke the divine language of the birds. So why is our modern language our downfall? My theory is that we were not supposed to be speaking this way and in eating from the tree we skipped forward in evolution. It makes me wonder if the key to life is not being so vocal. Ever since we started talking we've been trying to push it even further with the invention of the telephone and internet. That saying that goes "The man that knows little has a lot to say, and the wise man says nothing" hits closer to home than ever now. Now im not saying that the bible is accurate you could replace the tree of knowledge with any number of fungi, but i just found this interesting.

He is ashamed before the blade of grass or the blowing rose.Man postpones or remembers; he does not live in the present, but with reverted eye laments the past, or, heedless of the riches that surround him, stands on tiptoe to foresee the future. He cannot be happy and strong until he too lives with nature in the present, above time TRANSCEND

In reality we live on a doomed world. Earth will not last forever. So maybe language and cultural frameworks of knowledge are not the downfall but the eventual saviour of not just man but all life as we know it. I'm not just talking about physical relocation in the universe but perhaps the evolution of another conciousness medium through technology.
Then again I'm stoned

the medium youre talking about is information, the internet. And that's the problem, the ablility to advance your own evolution instead of it happening naturally.

Well you're talking about biblical myth and modern language...I was referring to the tower of babel, look it up it's a cool story.
Basically all the humans spoke the same language and decided to build a tower that reached heaven. This pissed of God who destroyed the tower and scattered all the humans and condemned them to speak different languages so they could never get together and try that sort of shit again.
There's more to it than that though, so look it up, you'll find a lot of stuff about that and the origins of language.

I don't think I understand your argument. Maybe you aren't communicating it well enough.

ahhh i know about babel i had i talk with a friend at work tonight about it. i dont really believe that myths are all that mythical anymore. The more i research the more i see that so called myths are steeped in reality, wheather or not you think these things are possible is totally up to your opinion.

Well lastnight i was thinking about knowledge being viewed as a negative, rather than a positive. That's why drugs are illegal, because when you do drugs it alters your state in some of these states you can learn things that you would otherwise have no access to. The people in power gained that power with knowledge,so they want to keep those who have no power ignorant so that they dont get overthrown. So in eating that fruit human beings have come closer to some kind of grand truth and are now born into this world with "sin". In this age that we live in knowledge is everywhere. im tired of typing.

You're overthinking things. We're animals, we exist to fuck. As long as we keep on fuckin, from an evolutionary perspective, we're okay.
Of course there are many obstacles to the continued fucking of mankind out there in the world. It's up to us to DESTROY THEM!!!

It seems as if in this era we are switching from verbal communication to non-verbal via the internet,text-messaging,etc. I don't really know if this has much to do with the thread being as I did not read it but I just put my .02 in.
