problems with utorrent

so lately whenever i open utorrent i am unable to browse the internet. i don't know why this is or when exactly it started but it didn't use to be like this. i don't think i've made any major changes to my system lately so i really have no idea why this is. i downloaded azureus to see if it was only a utorrent issue but same thing happens with azureus. i want to be able to download torrents and browse at the same time, anybody have any idea what could be the problem?

your upload is set too high. Set it to about 75-80% of your connection's max upload speed, otherwise, bittorrent will saturate your connection.

i don't think that's the problem, cuz i haven't changed any of utorrent's settings and it used work just fine a couple weeks ago.
just now, when i tried what you told me, as soon as i opened utorrent i wasn't able to browse the internet, i changed my upload settings and waited a couple of minutes but nothing. so i closed utorrent and opened it again and waited a couple of minutes. nothing. so i finally closed utorrent but i still wan't able to use the internet till after a couple of minutes after i had closed utorrent. it's really annoying. could it be a problem with my isp?

i don't see how having this would help, could you explain?

it decreases your chances of getting and government seeders and riaa/mpaa fake trackers that like to prey on stupid torrenters..
it might not help a whole bunch, but it certainly cant hurt
and you should upgrade your utorrent or re-install..

last time i had problems with utorrent i called them and the dude gave me detailed instructions on how to get it to work. he even asked what i would be using it for and i told him that i was using it for school he just laughed and said "enjoy your schoolwork".

Calling your ISP and asking them is very stupid, yes.
Depends on your country, though.

No, it's not, just say you're trying to grab the latest ISO of your favourite linux distro, or to seed your CC licensed short film. There are tons of legitimate uses for bittorrent.
