earth star mushrooms

hi i just found a large patch of earth star mushrooms, they are amazing, really shows the diversity contained within the fungi kingdom


if anyone has any more info on this fungi ... well tell me,( i know its not active)
i can also make some spore prints if any are interested

Those are very interesting looking mushrooms. I have never seen anything that looks quite like that. Definately a cool find.

Not edible. They have the same texture as a dried puffball (the soft bits, that is). The other parts are like wood (or maybe dried, tough leather).

Yep, I found some of those suckers here in NZ, also under pine.
They were crazy. I poked one and I got scared cause a puff of spores came out! Hehehe, silly me, gettin scared by a mushroom!
