I have a friend that just tripped for his first time about two weeks ago. He made 2 mistakes IMO, he ate way too many shrooms (over 1/4 OZ) and he did it at a club. He freaked out of course and didn't have a very good experience. The problem is that his girlfriend says he hasn't been "the same"... like he's irritable, and snaps at her. She says it like "ever since he ate those mushrooms"... but this seems kind of weird to me. I was wondering if anyone else had this experience, or heard of anything like this happening?

i've had friends who've used ecstasy and became irritable and started to snap at people for no good reason, but haven't heard of this problem with mushrooms. over 7grams is a huge trip though, so it probably had some affect on him. and i'm gonna move this thread o'er to general questions, 'cause this doesn't really have anythin' to do with trip tips. i hope your friend's condition improves

Any experience you have affects who you are and how you relate to people; good and bad. I know I can say I haven't been the same since trying psychadelics. Luckily, I have had mostly good trips, and so far always good ones on shrooms. I think it would just be normal that if he had a _really_ bad first experience with shrooms, it would be affecting him in a negative way for awhile. I had a bad trip on some experimentals combined with pot, and I wasn't 'the same' either for a long time. The good news, from someone who has been that person, I think there's a good chance this will pass. If you can get him to talk about what is making him irratable, he might not even notice it. Good luck K

It happens ...
A friend of mine took about an eighth of shrooms and had an epic trip, he was the happiest he has ever been ... but when he started coming down he got horribly irritable and depressed. He was yelling just because he was so angry at having to come back to regular reality. Of course, this is an extreme case, most people have a nice afterglow.
I took 7 g of Pan Cyans with a friend in my room, and to make an extremely long story short, we had a very serious crisis due to how hard we were tripping ... suicide was a very real option, because time didn't just stop, it no longer existed. I didn't know what my name was, or what a name was, or what ANYTHING at all was. It was absolutely terrifying, I've tripped over 50 times on various substances but no trip compared to this one. For months after I was destroyed, and though I wasn't irritable or short with people, I was still uneasy with regular everyday life, as if I started from scratch.
Epic doses (7g+) are, more often than not, asking for trouble ...
