Better pics http://img177.imageshack.us/img177/7658/mush003dx6.jpg http://img376.imageshack.us/img376/2056/mush005ve4.jpg
Habitat : Found growing in clumps scattered about a dead tree.
Gills : White/Off white
Cap : Very thin, flat, with a white color turning a darkish brown black when bruised. About 25-30 mm across.
Stem : Also very thin, weak, prone to splitting and turning brown near the bottom.
Location : Picked in Michigan.
EDIT : It seems like it's got a faint odor, something similar to lemons or something like that. Also, the bruising has shifted to a darkish purple with some yellow bits. I can't get a spore print right now.

Much better pics now, look back up at top.
EDIT : Turns out that I don't have the materials to get a spore print right now.
Some type of undeveloped Mycena maybe? I'm thinking it's a mycena cyanorrhiza, can anybody confirm?
When I picked these, they were near completely white, BTW.

They arn't Mycena cyanorrhiza. Might be in Mycena genus or maybe Omphalina, but anyway you look at it, not active.

Wow you found mushrooms in michigan. It's been damn cold here lately, except for the last few days, which still haven't been the greatest.

I thought rubbing alcohol was necessary for a good print. Well I guess it doesn't matter, but I'll be sure to get prints of whatever I find on my hunt today. It rained a lot yesterday and at about 12 it'll be in the mid 50's, the warmest it's been in a few days.

alcohol's not needed for that type of mushroom. that's only when you need to be sterile when taking the print because you want to continue your research with that species. good luck on your hunt!
