Acidified water is the most effective solvent. I don't think you're going to find anything else that extracts DMT that well. But water also pulls all those tannins and whatnot that upset your stomache.

Have you looked into egg white or gelatin methods for pulling the tannins down out of the tea, while leaving all of the spice in the water? I've never found the need to try this out, but I know I've seen some people who swear by it.

Also, if you want to put it in a capsule, why not just put in the little extra effort to make a clean spice extract? It's really easy to do, and a lot easier to know your dose.

Try mixing up some MHRB and naphtha, see what comes out :rolleyes:

He was talking about solvents for the naturally-occuring DMT salt.  But yes, I agree that just extracting the freebase makes more sense.  If you get a pure enough salt of the DMT, then it'll just be a messy oil.

Yeah I guess your right. I just thought if I added the lemon juice I could make DMT citrate and it would be soluble in the alcohol.

So next time I will extract the syrian rue separately and do the same thing to the MHRB except this time with naptha and no lemon juice.

Yes, it's already a salt in the bark. That's why you can defat with naphtha before doing an acidic extract on the bark (not that it's worthwhile to do so, it's just interesting to note that you don't pull DMT). This is why a plain coldwater extraction pulls some DMT. Acidifying the water helps it pull more DMT.

As I understand it, your experiment shows that DMT salts aren't sufficiently soluble in alcohol for your purposes. The freebase form appears to be soluble in hot ethanol, however (Merck reports is as a recrystalliztion solvent).

Hah, didn't even notice that. Yeah, microwaving could potentially destroy DMT.

A. yeah use naptha remove the nausea stuff.
B.why extract rue? at all or grind it, eating 1-3g of it via raw seeds swallowed works really well and i have a bunch of people to back me on it.
C. is the brew really that aweful that you have to make pharmahuasca.


d. i have had it with Acid/base extracted dmt it was intense and like the time i had one brew(the brew was better tho) oh and it was with 5-meo too. i prefer 5-meo rich brews

You guys seem to be misreading me here. I never put the chemicals in the microwave. Read it again.

I dont see any reason not to extract the rue. It seemed to work fine that way. I really cant hold that stuff down anymore. I get bowl movements just from thinking about that stuff.
