Yoga means "union". It's a means for the mystical experience of unity with the ground of being, and hopefully retaining the association and obtaining liberation.

Karma Yoga - the Yoga of Action. You go about your daily life, and complete your work without attachment to the end result. The path is the goal. The action is the end, not the means to the end.

Bhakti Yoga - the Yoga of Devotion. Love God, yourself, and everyone.

Kundalini Yoga - I've been going to a class for this for a few months now. I'm really enjoying it. There's a lot of hyperventilation and exercises that put you in the zone, with mantras and meditations. It's about awakening the kundalini energy coiled up around the first chakra, and channeling it up the chakras.

Hatha Yoga - This is more about stretching and maintaining postures. I've never done it, but I think most westernized yoga is based around this.

Jnana Yoga - The yoga of knowledge. Knowing you are one with the divine. Experiencing and having that fundamental shift in perspective and knowing "yog"

There's a lot out there. These are really the main ones you'll probably find. Bhakti and Karma yoga can be practiced at all times.

that reminds me of a girl i meditated with and went to another plane with. we chilled there it was amazing.

what was creepy was my class did yoga one day and the teacher psychic vampired my energy and when we were done me and her were the only two in the class that looked like we just had amazing tantric sex and yes she studied tantric so did I.

my whole thing about sex is if you really wanna ok unless your super amazing to the point that i cant resist wanting you in which i will go out my way but thats rare to non existant.

yeah i like my magic practices better.

"What they don't tell you in the Yoga books, is how big of a part Cannabis plays in the lives of Sadhus in India. Yoga is basically a technology of proper Cannabis use." T. McKenna

I like Bikram Yoga, it kicks my ass...

He's right, most Sadhus in India are constantly sucking on a chillum, they certainly think it's about pot. Though I don't necessarily agree.

real sadhus don't think its about pot.

isn't life more than food?

isn't yoga more than smoking pot?

its about the room, not the key

Right. Whatever, I've just recently come to the conclusion that 'purity' is an ego trip.

everything is an ego trip.

everything is ego, its about purifying the ego, reducing negative qualities.

that was awesome its about the room not the key.
Baba Yaga's room is amazing
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baba_Yaga i say since shaman orginated in siberia maybe the reason whay Yage' came for the word Yaga and its all in priase of the great baba yaga but since they are so far from their root they just dont know. it would explain the female spirit in the tea.

you see along time ago baba yaga was killed by treacherous people jealous of her and the men whom resided in her. upon killing her they spread her body around the world. and it grew into magic forests. I wouldnt be suprised if amazon death vine was her vains.
you getting what im saying man.

Go buy 'Light on Yoga' by B.K.S. Iyengar

Jumped in a river, what did I see?
Black eyed angels swimming with me
Moon full of stars and astral cars, all the figures I used to see
All my lovers were there with me
All my past and all my futures
We went to heaven in a little rowboat
There was nothing to fear and nothing to doubt
